BRAND NEW FRIGHT CLUB NEWS

With 2010 now in full swing, I’m sure you’re all wondering where your next scare is going to come from. Well my little chill-chasers look no further as Fright Club, as always, will provide.

For those who like to see the works of their favourite horror writers on screen the Clive Barker Triple pack has more scares than you can shake a very bloody stick at. Released on 29th March, the jam-packed box includes the brand new Dread, described as “one of the finest Clive barker adaptations to date” by shocktilyoudrop.com, The Midnight Meat Train starring Vinnie Jones and Book of Blood, where the lines between the living and the dead become blurred. So, draw the curtains, turn off the lights and indulge in nearly five hours of fear.

If you like your horror with a touch of reality then Henry Lee Lucas: Serial Killer (on DVD 12th April) is one for you. This is the true story of one of America’s most prolific serial killers, Henry Lee Lucas, and how he confessed to the murders of hundreds of people and the scandal that surrounded his arrest.

If you prefer a few laughs between the screams, then check out Dance of the Dead (on DVD 19th April), where the dead start to rise from their graves and go on a bloody rampage through a small American town. Making the whole situation much more of a nightmare is the fact that they do all of this on the night of the high school prom – what a drag. The only ones who can save the day are the social outcasts from the sci-fi club who couldn’t get a date.

Okay, so what if you want your undead monsters a little less decomposed? Well, how about indulging in some vampire violence. The brilliant Daybreakers (on DVD and Blu-ray 31st May) has some amazing vampire smack-downs and enough of the red stuff to satiate even the most blood-thirsty of vampire groupies. Starring Ethan Hawke, Sam Neill and Willem Dafoe, this is vampires as they should be – back to their sunlight-hating, blood-drinking best.

So that’s zombies and vampires on our monster check list, how about something equally as sinister; demons. In Heartless (on DVD and Blu-ray 24th May) a young man makes an ill-advised Faustian deal when he discovers there are demons on the streets of London. Starring Jim Sturgess, Noel Clarke and Timothy Spall, this is a dark tale of how far people will go to get their hearts’ desire.

Don’t forget, we’re offering you Fright Club members a free loyalty promotion. We’re offering you a FREE EXCLUSIVE SAW 6 PRINT! All you have to do to qualify is send in two entry forms to the Fright Club. Entry forms can be found in the following DVD titles – Growth, Train, Cabin Fever 2, Saw 6 and Dread, and Blu-rays – Cabin Fever and Saw 6. See the site home page for all release dates.
